Another Night on Campus
February 10, 2003 1:14 a.m.
I sit here at 1:15 in the morning, knowing with absolute certainty that I should be doing any one of a dozen other things right now. At the top of that extensive list, the options "sleep" and "write anthro paper" hover menacingly. Instead, I let myself vent at TreeBark and listen as she gives me the first proactive advice I have been given. I want to pour out my heart and voice all my misgivings about life, relationships, and roommate dynamics, but instead, my roommate returns and talk turns to more neutral topics. I give up hope of finishing any work that evening and turn to the more realistic goal of getting 8 hours of sleep. But as the night progresses, I realize that even this goal is far fetched.
