I worked about 3 hours on this layout because I just couldn't get everything working right at first. But near the end, everything just seemed to fall into place!
Now, I do not, by any stretch of the imagination, claim to be an expert at HTML, but I think that I did pretty good. Yes, I did use and editor, but the Navigation Bar is my own graphic, and I added lots of things by hand instead of using the editor. Go me! LOL! Now I know that some of you will wonder what happened to the lovely city layout I had, but ya know what... it was just too monochromatic. And, after a while, that greyish tint that it had got rather depressing.
All bragging over my design experiments aside, it's time to get to the meat of this entry. First off, I got the result of my first Lifespan Exam. I did suprisingly well. I scored a 90. They say the first test score really sets the tone for the rest of the course, so I hope that I can hold onto that edge. Starting off with an A makes it so much easier later on. Only two more tests. It's hard to believe that I'm almost half finished with the course! After all, we've only had 5 courses already. There is something to say after all about evening classes. And I am definitely contemplating doing an extra credit presentation. I know I don't desperately need it, but and A instead of and A- makes a difference in the GPA! And I would love to get my cumulative up about 3.5 so I can take honors courses again next spring.
The biggest surprise of all yesterday happened at our staff meeting. Dorney forked over some free passes. Amazing isn't it? They aren't as cheap as I thought they were! I don't exactly know what I'll do with ONE ticket though. Maybe Patti and Jennie and I can go sometime. Split the cost of one ticket between the three of us or something.
I have mixed feelings about my job right now. Some days I love it. I love my residents, they're polite, sweet, curious, and generally well behaved. But lately, every night at the desk gets more mundane. Yes, I get the occaisional problem, but it's normally stuff that they could deal with themselves is they tried. It gets frustrating some nights. "I don't CARE if your boyfriend is coming. It's after midnight, he can't come in." Grrr...
I have turned in my application for the bookstore... god help me. For better or worse, it's done. Actually, I shouldn't complain. It's probably a very fitting job for someone as enamored by books as I am. I remember my mom just letting me wander in the bookstore for hours when I was younger. I still do, but I don't have her to pay for my stacks of books anymore, so I try to limit myself. The perks about the bookstore job? 20% off my textbooks for the fall. Talk about great benefits. I'll probably save more than I'd make in a paycheck!
Well, the world is stirring about me... I think I will go do some errands. Including picking up My Big Sis / Little Sis information! I get my littles today! I'm already starting with my dink plans! Watch out little sis's... your dinks will be amazing!
