
Being here tonight just makes me more lonely. The rain is pouring outside, and Jennie and Patti are on their way to upstate New York and Karen's house. Mike is doing his laundry somewhere in Ohio. Jess is getting ready for Sue to visit. And I'm the only one here on campus. It can be so lonely here.
I wish I could fast forward through time to the end of August. To the end of this oppresive heat and humidity; to the end of this crushing silence.
