She was 19

Friends.

Sometimes i have to wonder... I mean... I do manage to find some weird ones. But you never know how long they'll stick around.

Today was just one of those days where everything seemed absolutely perfect allll day, and then one thing went wrong and just pulled the mood down.

Mom and I roll out of bed at 2 pm. (Yes, that's good for me lately! Hey, if i'm gonna be working night shift, I might as well get my body used to it!) We hang out in my room. Patti and Jennie come by. Marvel at the steps to my loft. Jennie decides to climb up. Jennie informs me that her friends who visited yesterday thought Jennie and I were dating! Lol. Man, sometimes it's not a good thing to know where the Philly Gayborhood is suppose! Then, we discover why Karen Babson is sleeping in the top bunk next year and not Jennie. Jennie spends the next 20 minutes trying to get down. First, she's too short to use the ladder. Then, she's afraid to slide down onto a chair. Finally, Patti and I drag a dresser over and we hold her hands as she half slides, half stands down onto it. Then, we hold her hands as she climbs from that to a chair and from that to the ground. All the while, Mom sits in bed laughing at our antics.

Eventually, Jennie and Patti leave to hit the mall. Yay for them! Mom and I shower. She tells me she thought I went down the drain (It was only about a half hour! It wasn't THAT bad!) and then decides she wants to go to IHOP for Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner before she goes home. (Note: it is 5 pm by now!) Mom and I cruise around after a scrumptuous dinner of chocolate pancakes (for me), pancakes, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and one of my chocolate pancakes (for her), and an appetizer sampler (mostly for me, but she ate some onion rings). Then, we laze around eating the maraschino cherries out of our cherry cokes and drinking a cup of coffee. Ahh... this is the life. We cruise on back to Cedar Crest learning that you can get to IHOP by turning right at Hamilton and 15th. Wow, this is a very 'newsy' type entry for me. Normally, I'm more abstract.

Mom packs up her stuff and heads home after offering beds and washer and dryer for free next Saturday night if we feel like going up to my house. Even Long Island Pizza if we actually stick around for a while she says. LOL.

Hmmmm... maybe jennie and I will get together with Chris yet!

Jennie and Patti and I cook dinner (Kraft Macanoodles and homemade pizza if you're curious) and pop in Ocean's 11 (which we got for free). After the movie all go home, and I chill out in the kitchen doing the dishes I have neglected for a week. Then, decide to root around in my room and take care of some more unpacking.

Then, tragedy. Mom IM's me and tells me a girl I grew up with died in a car crash Saturday night. She sends me the article, and it sort of creeps me out that her body is only about a mile from me right now waiting for an autopsy. Creepy huh? Makes me wonder just how long we're all gonna be here for. She was 19. Damn...
